A pilot project to enhance combat readiness

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have launched a pilot project aimed at increasing the duration of military training to one and a half months. This was announced at a briefing by Colonel Yevhen Mezhevikin, Deputy Head of the Main Doctrine and Training Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new approach involves deeper and longer training, which should increase the level of readiness of servicemen for modern warfare, liga.net portal reports.

Large-scale training at four bases
According to Mezhevikin, the project involves about 500 servicemen who are being trained at four key training centres of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The aim of the project is to prepare personnel for new challenges on the battlefield and increase their effectiveness in modern conditions.

Updated training programme: focus on the latest technologies and survival
One of the key changes was the update of the training programme. New training modules focus on critical aspects of modern warfare, including:

  • Work with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs);
  • The use of trench electronic warfare;
  • Preparation for reconnaissance and sabotage activities;
  • Mastering survival skills in extreme conditions.

The programme “Saving the lives of servicemen”
This extension of the training period is part of a large-scale initiative launched by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi. The programme, called “Saving Military Lives”, aims to reduce risks on the battlefield through better training and the use of the latest technology.

Mezhevikin stressed that the project’s goal is not only to improve combat capability but also to ensure maximum protection of the military during combat missions. This is critical for further successful countering Russian aggression at the front.
