Today, 23 January 2025, marks the one thousand sixty-fifth day since the beginning of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. This was reported by the Time Ukraine Israel news portal, citing the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Active hostilities in all sectors
Over the past day, 115 combat engagements were recorded at the frontline, which indicates that the conflict remains highly intense. The enemy continues to use various types of weapons, striking at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian settlements.
In particular, the enemy used four missiles in two missile attacks and carried out 74 air strikes, dropping 116 cluster bombs. In addition, the occupiers fired more than 5,200 shells, including 117 from multiple launch rocket systems. No less than 2,487 kamikaze drones were also used to attack Ukrainian positions.
Massive attacks on towns and villages
In particular, air strikes hit the towns of Velyka Pysarivka, Romashkove, Velyka Berizka and Stora Huta in Sumy region, as well as Muravy in Chernihiv region. In the Donetsk region, the enemy attacked Siversk, Bondarne, Kostiantynivka, Malynivka, Zelene Pole, Hrodivka and other strategically important localities.
The enemy used aviation particularly intensively in the areas of Beryslav in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, where enemy aircraft bombed our defensive positions.
Active actions of the Defence Forces
For their part, the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only repelled the enemy’s assault attacks, but also hit important occupation targets. Missile troops and artillery of the Defence Forces destroyed an enemy command post and six other strategic facilities.
In the Kupyansk sector, our troops countered seven attacks by Russian invaders. In particular, they managed to stop the enemy at the frontline positions near Lozova, Zahryzove and Petropavlivka.
In the Liman sector, hostile attacks continued, especially in the areas of Pershotravneve, Novosergiivka, Zelena Dolyna and Serebryansky forest.
New breakthrough attempts on several fronts
The enemy is actively trying to break through the defences in several areas, in particular in the Toretsk area, where the enemy launched 14 attacks. In the Pokrovske sector, our defenders stopped 62 enemy attacks.
The enemy’s failures on other fronts
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy tried three times to force Ukrainian units out of their positions, but suffered significant losses and was forced to retreat. Operations in the Kursk sector are also ongoing, where Ukrainian troops repelled nine attacks by the invaders, who launched 21 air strikes and fired over 370 times.
Losses of the Russian invaders
Over the past day, the occupiers suffered significant losses. A total of 1340 Russian servicemen were killed, and more than 150 pieces of equipment were destroyed, including 6 tanks, 12 armoured combat vehicles, 62 artillery systems and 72 operational and tactical UAVs. In addition, 68 vehicles and three special vehicles were destroyed.
A call for unity and struggle
The latest information shows that, despite the enemy’s fierce pressure, Ukrainian defenders remain steadfast. Our troops, together with civilians, prove every day that no attempts by the aggressor will break our resolve.
