Ukrainian troops have made significant strides near the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, successfully reclaiming previously lost positions. This development was highlighted in a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), published on September 2.
According to the analysis, supported by geolocated footage, Ukrainian defenders have regained control over positions southwest of Novohrodivka, situated southeast of Pokrovsk. This achievement comes amid ongoing tactical advances by Russian forces in the area.
The Institute emphasizes that these regained positions are crucial in the context of the ongoing battle for Donetsk, where intense fighting continues. Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that Russian occupiers are concentrating their attacks specifically around Novohrodivka, indicating a highly contested situation in this sector.
Thanks to the efforts of Ukrainian forces, the situation on this critical front remains under control, and the reclamation of lost positions bolsters the morale and combat capabilities of Ukraine’s defense forces.
