The United States will soon deploy the THAAD medium-range missile defence system in Israel with American personnel. However, according to the Pentagon, this system will not be deployed in Europe and will not be used to protect Ukraine. This was reported by cursorinfo.
At the briefing , Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh explained that the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East is fundamentally different, as are the US commitments to these countries. Despite these differences, the US government continues to provide critical support to both countries in line with their defence needs.
Singh also confirmed that U.S. President Joe Biden has emphasised continued assistance to Ukraine, stressing that support will continue as long as necessary to defend it. Cooperation with Congress remains an important element of this process, ensuring timely and steady delivery of military assistance to Kyiv.
