An evacuation plan for the EU capital in case of a Russian invasion: Europe is no longer ignoring the eastern threat

ЄС

The government of a European Union country has developed a secret plan to evacuate its capital in the event of a Russian attack, AFP reports, citing sources close to security agencies. The name of the country is not disclosed for security reasons, but the sources emphasise: “Historically, the threat has always come from the east.”

The plan provides for:

  • the rapid movement of the government;
  • providing command control from another city;
  • evacuation of key infrastructure and documents;
  • Coordination with NATO allies in an emergency situation.

European intelligence agencies are increasingly inclined to believe that if Russia wins in Ukraine, the Baltic states or Poland could be the next target. Against this backdrop, pressure is growing on NATO to increase its military presence on its eastern flank.

This information confirms that the West is aware of the reality of the threat that Ukraine is deterring at the cost of lives. Supporting Kyiv is not only helping an ally, but also an investment in the security of the entire continent.
