President Joe Biden reiterated Thursday evening his willingness to undergo a neurological exam, but only “if my doctors say I should.”

His response came after members of his party suggested he undergo such an exam to alleviate concerns about his mental capacity to serve a second term, according to CNN. “I’m not opposed, if my doctors tell me I need to have another neurological exam, I’ll do it,” he stated at a rare press conference Thursday following the conclusion of the NATO summit.

He continued: “Every day I am surrounded by good doctors. If they think there is an issue, I promise – even if I don’t think there is an issue – I will have another neurological exam. No one is suggesting that right now.”

However, the president lamented the growing concerns about his age: “No matter what I do, no one will be satisfied.”

Biden reiterated that he has undergone three neurological exams during his term, the most recent one in February.

“I am tested every day on my cognitive ability – the decisions I make every day,” he said, emphasizing that age is a source of wisdom.
