China has called on the United States to completely abolish the increased tariffs, calling them a “wrong practice” and urging it to return to the path of mutual respect. This was stated by the Ministry of Commerce of China, France24 reports.
“We call on the United States to take a big step to correct its mistakes by completely abolishing the misguided practice of ‘reciprocal tariffs,'” the statement said.
This was in response to the decision of the US Customs Service, which announced the exclusion of a number of technology products, including smartphones, laptops and microchips, from tariffs.
Beijing called it a “small step” and said it was assessing the impact of the decision on the economy. American giants such as Nvidia, Dell and Apple, whose products are largely manufactured in China, will benefit from the tariff relief.
