Istanbul became a platform for discussing the Palestinian narrative in the global media
The two-day Tawasol forum, which ended in Istanbul, brought together about 750 participants from 50 countries, representing various media structures and activist organisations. Considerable attention was also paid to criticism of Israeli information policy, in particular its impact on world opinion. The organisers openly called for countering the “Zionist narrative” using the capabilities of social media, international news agencies and online platforms.

Israel traditionally perceives such forums as politically motivated initiatives aimed at distorting real events and discrediting the Israeli state. Officials emphasise that media platforms should strive for objective coverage of the conflict and not be used to spread one-sided propaganda.

At the same time, the forum raised accusations against the Israeli military of persecuting journalists.
