As a result of an Iranian missile attack on Israel, the Croatian consul in Tel Aviv and his wife were injured. This was announced by Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman, The Times of Israel reports.
“I am shocked to hear that our consul and his wife were injured in the attack on Tel Aviv. The building in which they live was hit. I spoke to them – fortunately, their injuries are minor and their lives are not in danger,” the Croatian Foreign Minister wrote on social media.
The incident occurred as a result of a large-scale Iranian attack on Israel on Sunday night, when hundreds of drones and missiles were launched. Some of them hit civilian targets in Tel Aviv and other cities.
Grlić Radman assured that the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is taking all necessary measures to protect its diplomatic staff in Israel.
“We strongly condemn the attacks on civilians and diplomatic facilities. We call for immediate de-escalation and restraint,” the Croatian minister added.
As a reminder, in response to the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which killed Iranian officers, Tehran launched an unprecedented drone missile attack on Israel, causing concern throughout the region and beyond.
