American billionaire Elon Musk has called on British politician Nigel Farage to resign as leader of the right-wing radical party Reform UK. Musk wrote about this on his X platform, noting that Farage does not have the necessary qualities to effectively lead the party, Reuters reports.

The meeting of Farage and Musk

This call came a few weeks after their meeting in the United States at Donald Trump’s residence. According to Farage, they discussed Musk’s financial support for Reform UK. However, the billionaire himself has not yet confirmed his involvement in the funding.

The conflict over Tommy Robinson

The day before, Farage distanced himself from Musk’s statements supporting the imprisoned British far-right activist Tommy Robinson. Farage said that this position contradicts the principles of the Reform UK party.

Musk and UK politics

Elon Musk has recently been actively commenting on the political situation in the UK. In particular, he declared the “inevitability of a civil war” in the country after a wave of anti-immigration protests in the summer. Musk has also criticised the government’s economic policy, claiming that foreign investors are leaving the country.

Farage’s reaction

In response to Musk’s statement, Farage wrote: “This came as a surprise! Elon is an outstanding personality, but I disagree with him. My position on Tommy Robinson is unchanged, and I never violate my principles.”

Last month, Musk endorsed the right-wing German party Alternative for Germany (AfD), which opposes immigration and Islam. This caused concern among German intelligence services, which consider the party potentially extremist.

Musk’s remarks have sparked heated debate both in Britain and abroad, and his interference in politics is becoming increasingly visible on the international stage.
