The American billionaire, head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk, has made a strong statement on the Russian-Ukrainian war, condemning not only the conflict itself but also those who fuel it. During a video address to the congress of the Italian right-wing party League, Musk described the war as cruel, senseless and devoid of humanity, Il Messaggero reports.
“I do not respect those who fuel the war. Every day, soldiers die in the trenches – in Ukraine and Russia – without understanding what they are fighting for. The war continues without a clear strategy, without any prospect of ending. It’s terrible,” Musk said.
He stressed that human life should not be a bargaining chip in a big political game, and that leaders who seek escalation are directly responsible for the bloodshed.
Supporting the position of former US President Donald Trump on the need for a peaceful settlement, Musk said: “It’s time to put an end to this absurdity. It’s time to say enough is enough”.
His comments caused a wide response in the international media and increased pressure on politicians to find a real peace mechanism that would not ignore either the losses or the truth.
