Dubai-based Emirates Airlines has introduced a ban on pagers and walkie-talkies for passengers travelling to, from or through Dubai. The decision follows a recent incident involving Hezbollah militants in which communication devices were bombed in September.
According to Time Ukraine Israel, citing Reuters, the official website of Emirates Airlines states that all prohibited items will be confiscated by Dubai police as part of enhanced security measures. Passengers are advised to take the new rules into account when preparing for their trip.
In addition, the airline announced that it would suspend flights to Iraq and Iran until Tuesday. The policy on flights to Jordan will be resumed this Sunday. Also, flights to Lebanon will be temporarily suspended until 15 October due to the escalation of Israeli attacks on Hezbollah, including strikes near Beirut airport.
Emirates Airlines urges passengers to stay tuned for the latest news and to follow all safety instructions.
