Helsinki, 29 January. Finnish company Insta will present a new version of the Steel Eagle long-range unmanned aerial vehicle at the SecD Day event on Wednesday. Developed in cooperation with Ukrainian engineers, this drone has already been put into mass production and is designed to destroy enemy manpower, Yle reports.

Steel Eagle is a helicopter drone equipped with a charge of steel and tungsten balls. When dropped from several tens of metres, the balls can pierce the roof of a conventional or lightly armoured vehicle, causing serious damage. According to the developers, three of these drones are enough to neutralise enemy manpower on an area equal to a football field. In addition, the drone is equipped with enhanced electronic warfare capabilities, making it even more effective on the battlefield.

The Steel Eagle project is the result of cooperation between more than ten Finnish defence companies and Ukrainian partners, making it an important step in the development of defence technologies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
