The American humanitarian foundation Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) reported on Thursday that five of its Palestinian employees were killed in a Hamas militant attack on a bus heading to a humanitarian centre in the west of Khan Younis, Gaza Strip. Several other people were injured, and some of the workers, according to the foundation, may have been kidnapped. This was reported by Ynet news.

In total, the bus was carrying more than 20 local residents who were working to deliver vital aid to the affected areas. GHF representatives expressed their deep concern not only about the casualties, but also about the fact that the attack took place on staff members who were engaged in exclusively civilian humanitarian activities.

This incident caused a wave of condemnation in the international community and raised questions about the safety of humanitarian missions in the conflict zone, especially against the backdrop of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
