On Monday, 24 February, French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at the White House in Washington for talks with US President Donald Trump, the main topic of which will be the war in Ukraine and the prospects for ending it. This was reported by Reuters.
The two leaders are expected to discuss possible ways to achieve peace, European involvement in the negotiation process, and military guarantees for Ukraine. Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will try to persuade Trump not to conclude a ceasefire agreement with Vladimir Putin at any cost to avoid a scenario that could play into the hands of the Kremlin.
