The Greek Ministry of Defence is close to finalising a deal to purchase 38 Israeli-made PULS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). This was reported by Time Ukraine Israel, citing BlackSeaNews.
A new stage of defence capability
The deal, which is worth around €500 million, includes not only the supply of launchers, but also artillery training, maintenance and ammunition. The final approval by the Greek parliament is expected to take place in the near future, paving the way for strengthening the country’s defence capabilities.
Unique characteristics of PULS
The PULS system demonstrates significant advantages due to its versatility, reliability and the ability to launch various types of missiles depending on the mission. Its key features include:
- Range: up to 300 km using Predator Hawk missiles.
- Flexibility in the choice of ammunition: the ability to use AccuLAR-122 (35 km), AccuLAR-160 (40 km), EXTRA (150 km) and long-range Predator Hawk (300 km) missiles.
- Versatility: the launcher supports two containers for different types of missiles, which ensures efficiency and mobility.
PULS is based on the Iveco truck platform, which increases the system’s mobility in difficult terrain and on different types of roads.
Cooperation with the local defence industry
A special feature of this agreement will be the participation of the Greek defence industry, which will join the creation of a production line for the maintenance and improvement of systems in the country. This will allow Greece not only to obtain high-precision weapons, but also to strengthen local technological capabilities.
The outlook for Europe
PULS, developed by the Israeli company Elbit Systems, is becoming increasingly popular among European countries due to its ease of maintenance and high efficiency. The localisation of production in customer countries makes the system even more attractive.

This deal will not only give Greece the ability to strike at strategic depth, but will also significantly upgrade its artillery units. The versatility and high accuracy of the PULS will provide a significant advantage in regional security issues.
