Despite the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the movement “remains alive and will continue to live,” Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Saturday. He stressed that the loss of Sinwar is painful for the Resistance Axis, but does not stop it from moving forward, AFP reports.
“Hamas will not disappear, even after the death of prominent leaders,” Khamenei said, pointing out that Sinwar was a key figure in the fight against Israel. The Iranian leader called Sinwar an “outstanding personality of the resistance” who fought “against a cruel enemy”.
Sinwar, who had led Hamas since 2017, was killed during an Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip.
