US Vice President J.D. Vance said that there is a “very large gap” between Russia’s and Ukraine’s demands to end the war. At the same time, the United States intends to make efforts to bridge the gap over the next 100 days.

Vance said this in an interview with the American TV channel Fox News.

“Ukrainians said: “We want this”. The Russians said: “We want this.” And now the job of diplomacy is to try to bring these two sides together,” the US Vice President said.

According to him, Washington has a peace proposal and plans to intensify diplomatic efforts in the near future.

“We will work hard over the next 100 days to try to bring the parties together,” Vance added.

This statement was made against the backdrop of intensified US diplomatic initiatives in the east and Russia’s continued attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
