Russia is trying to attract military personnel from North Korea to participate in the war against Ukraine. If this information is confirmed, it will be another indication of the Kremlin’s desperation. This was stated by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at a press conference in Berlin, according to timeukraineisrael.

Starmer noted that he had read reports of North Korea’s possible involvement with Russia, but did not specify whether British intelligence had relevant information. “If this is true, it clearly indicates the level of desperation that has gripped the Kremlin. It looks more like an act of desperation than a strategic move,” the prime minister stressed.

The war is devastating Russia’s resources

During his speech, Keir Starmer also drew attention to the severe depletion of Russia’s resources, stressing that about 40% of the Russian budget is spent on the war. According to him, the past month has been the most tragic for the Russian army since the start of full-scale aggression against Ukraine, with the highest level of daily losses.

This statement correlates with the data of The Telegraph, which previously reported that September 2024 was the bloodiest for the Russian military in the entire war.

Cooperation between Russia and North Korea

Earlier, there were reports that North Korea was helping Russia not only with weapons but also with manpower. The Ukrainian side also expresses concern about this issue: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the DPRK is preparing a military contingent to support Russia in its war against Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga has called on international partners to respond decisively to the alleged intensification of military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow.
