On Monday, social network X went down for thousands of users in the US and UK. According to the monitoring website Downdetector.com, more than 31,000 users reported problems with the platform as of 12:02 a.m. Kyiv time.
The majority of complaints (over 20,000) came from users in the United States. Downdetector detects failures in digital services by collecting data from users and other sources in real time.
UPDATE 13:37: After 13:00, the number of complaints dropped sharply from tens of thousands to a few hundred. The technical issues have been almost completely resolved, but Company X has not made any official statement about the cause of the outage.
Elon Musk acquired Twitter in October 2022 after lengthy negotiations. In the summer of 2023, the platform was renamed to X.
