Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and one of Silicon Valley’s wealthiest figures, has emerged as a key behind-the-scenes ally in Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign. The two women share a 20-year friendship, during which Powell Jobs has served as a trusted advisor, confidante, and financial supporter of Harris, writes the Italian news agency
ANSA.

As Harris gears up for her presidential bid, Powell Jobs is playing a significant role, providing financial backing for pro-Harris initiatives. Powell Jobs has donated millions of dollars to support Harris’ campaign efforts, positioning herself as a highly influential player in Harris’ political journey.

Their long-standing relationship extends beyond politics, with both attending personal events such as each other’s weddings. Powell Jobs was one of the select few invited to Harris’ wedding with Doug Emhoff, while Harris attended Powell Jobs’ son’s wedding in 2023.

Kamala Harris, during her recent speech at the Pittsburgh Economic Club, reaffirmed her commitment to free-market capitalism, outlining a three-pronged economic plan. The plan focuses on reducing living costs for Americans, investing in innovation and entrepreneurship, and positioning the U.S. as a global leader in new technologies.

With Powell Jobs by her side, Harris is gaining support from influential figures in Silicon Valley, which could play a crucial role in her path to the presidency.
