The Renaissance Party, headed by French President Emmanuel Macron, has launched a large-scale campaign to update its strategy and strengthen its position ahead of the 2027 presidential election. This is reported by dpa.
As part of this initiative, the party organised hundreds of events in January to analyse the mistakes of the previous election and understand the mood of its supporters.
“We have two years to offer the country a vision of the future,” Renaissance said.
At the same time, the party acknowledged the lack of citizen engagement. Although Macron created Renaissance from scratch during his first term as president, the party has not yet been able to gain a foothold at the local level.
After losing some support in last summer’s parliamentary elections, Renaissance is facing a challenge: whether it will be able to maintain political influence after Macron’s second term as president.
Analysts believe that the party must decide on Macron’s successor. One of the possible candidates is former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, who is said to have ambitions to lead the 2027 presidential campaign.
