Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, has made another scandalous attack on Europe. On Thursday, after Donald Trump’s phone call with Vladimir Putin, he published a mocking and dismissive post on the social network X (Twitter).
“Old, frigid Europe is going crazy with jealousy and rage,” Medvedev wrote, hinting that the EU was not informed about the talks between Trump and Putin.
He continued in the same contemptuous tone, saying that Europe was “weak, ugly and useless” and that its role in the world was allegedly reduced to a secondary status without any real influence.
Scandalous posts: from Apocalypse to outright insults
In recent days, Medvedev has become more active on social media, publishing provocative posts with outright threats and undisguised contempt for the West:
- On Wednesday, he called Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement about the possibility of exchanging territories “nonsense”.
- On the Russian platform VKontakte, he mentioned the “Apocalypse” in the context of the talks between Trump and Putin.
- In a post in English on X, he actually questioned Europe’s role in global politics, mocking its “impotence”.
This attack is yet another example of the aggressive rhetoric of Russian officials aimed at dividing the West and undermining NATO’s unity. Medvedev’s statements come at a time when the EU is actively discussing further support for Ukraine and tougher sanctions against Russia.
European leaders have not yet responded officially, but diplomatic sources indicate that the public insults by Russian officials only strengthen the EU’s unity in support of Ukraine.
