Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia and the United States are in active contact through individual agencies to resolve the situation in Ukraine. He said this during a briefing on Wednesday, 5 February.

“There are indeed contacts between individual agencies, and they have intensified recently. But I can’t tell you any other details, I have nothing else to say,” Peskov said.

This is how he reacted to the statement by US President Donald Trump, who had earlier said that Washington was actively negotiating the situation in Ukraine with both Kyiv and Moscow.

As a reminder, relations between the US and Russia remain tense due to the situation in Ukraine, and any diplomatic contacts between the parties are of great interest to the international community.

As of today, there has been no official confirmation of the content of these talks from the US side.
