The Polish government is predicting the end of the hot phase of the war in Ukraine, but does not expect the conflict to end soon. This opinion was expressed by a representative of the Polish government, Pawel Kowal, according to local media.

Koval noted that “the maximum we can expect in the near future is a ceasefire”. However, the question is under what conditions this will happen, as the “frozen” conflict will not be a serious obstacle for Russia and can be used by the Kremlin to continue to put pressure on Ukraine in the future.

At the same time, the politician stressed that the West’s position remains unchanged: the international community is focused on the full restoration of Ukraine’s borders, recognised by international law.

As for the prospects for Ukraine’s recovery, Koval believes that this process could start as early as the second half of 2025. “Now it seems that everyone is preparing for the recovery next year. In my estimation, it will start in the second half of next year,” he said.

Koval also drew attention to the importance of discussing the conditions for ending the hot phase of the war and further steps to ensure stability in the region. According to him, this is a key task for the international community.
