The Qatari Embassy in the United States has denied information that the royal family is allegedly preparing a gift in the form of a luxury jet for US President Donald Trump. The embassy’s spokesman, Ali Al Ansari, told Politico.

“The information about the gift of the aircraft to Trump is inaccurate. The potential transfer of the aircraft for temporary use as Air Force One is under discussion between the Qatari and US defence ministries, but no final decision has been made,” the spokesman said.

The BBC recalls that during Trump’s first term, diplomatic relations between the US and Qatar were friendly. In particular, in 2019, Qatar signed a contract for the purchase of American aircraft.

This is not the first time that Qatar has been generous in its diplomatic relations: in 2018, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received a private jet as a gift from the Qatari monarchy.
