Russia and the United States have started negotiations on joint mining of rare earth metals. The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, said this in a commentary to a Russian publication, according to the Astra Telegram channel. According to him, various projects are being discussed, and some American companies have already expressed interest in cooperation.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has received an updated version of the minerals agreement from the US. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the document provides for the creation of a joint investment fund for the development and reconstruction of Ukraine without any debt obligations to Washington.
Negotiations between the US and Russia over strategic resources could affect global markets, as rare earth metals are critical for high-tech industries, including electronics, defence equipment and electric vehicles.
