“Rybnitsa-Rezina bridge closed again due to bomb threat”

Rybnitsa-Rezina bridge: novostipmr.

Reasons for suspension of traffic

Following a report of a possible bomb threat on the bridge connecting Ribnita and Rezina, Moldovan police again suspended traffic. The incident occurred against the backdrop of the second round of the presidential election in Moldova, which caused additional tension in society. This is reported by the news portal TimeUkraineIsrael with reference to TV8.md.

Provocation against state institutions

According to information provided by a TV8.md correspondent, a large number of cars and heavy traffic were observed on the bridge. The police consider this incident to be a deliberate provocation aimed at state institutions, especially in the context of accusations of restricting the rights of citizens to participate in elections.

“We qualify this as a challenge to state institutions, which are currently accused of restricting the movement of citizens to exercise their voting rights,” police officials said.

Appeals to society

The police called on those deliberately trying to challenge state structures to refrain from doing so. They stressed that it is important to ensure the correct conduct of the vote and avoid wasting resources on verifying such reports.

The results of the test

Earlier in the day, traffic on the Rybnitsa-Rezina bridge had already been stopped because of a suspicious box that a citizen had found and refused to open at the request of law enforcement officers. After two hours of checks, traffic was resumed.

Elections under threat

Today, 3 November, Moldova is holding a second round of presidential elections between incumbent President Maia Sandu and former Prosecutor General Alexandru Stoianoglo. The authorities are calling for calm and order to avoid wasting resources on such challenges, which would only destabilise the situation in the country.
