According to Russian media reports, Alla Pugacheva, the legendary singer and cultural icon, tried to export antiques from her castle in the village of Gryaz, but faced problems at customs due to an incomplete package of documents. Reportedly, Pugacheva planned to export a collection of luxury goods worth about $20 million, TimeUkraineIsrael reported.

Attempted export

Customs stated that Pugacheva’s representatives, during one of their rare visits to Russia, had compiled a list of valuables, including works of art from the 16th and 19th centuries, including a French chandelier, a fruit vase, and paintings by famous masters such as Domenico Puligo and Jan van Goyen. However, the shipment was blocked due to documentation issues.

Experts specialising in antiques estimate this collection to be rare and of museum value. For example, the Madonna with Child and Two Angels by Domenico Pugligo can fetch upwards of $1 million at international auctions. Pugacheva also owns a work by Jan van Goyen, which is considered a precious possession.

Recent visits to Russia

Pugacheva’s last official visit to Russia took place in November 2023, but there is speculation that she may have visited the country before. After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, the singer and her family moved to Israel, but recent events in the region have raised questions about her whereabouts.

The media also speculate about her possible stay in Cyprus or Latvia, but there is no exact information.

New law on confiscation of property

In addition, the Russian State Duma raised the possibility of confiscating the castle of Pugacheva and her husband Maxim Galkin in connection with the new law allowing for the seizure of property of foreign agents. This situation has attracted the attention of not only fans but also legal experts, as such decisions could have serious legal consequences.

The situation surrounding Alla Pugacheva and her attempts to export her antiques is a vivid example of the complex interplay between cultural heritage, property laws and the political environment. Despite the difficulties, Pugacheva remains a significant figure whose work and property arouse widespread public interest.
