The European Union is considering at least €6 billion in military aid to Ukraine, Politico reports, citing diplomatic sources. The funds would be used to supply 1.5 million artillery shells, air defence systems and other critical weapons.
According to European officials, the amount could rise to 10 billion euros, depending on the resources that member states can raise. An announcement of support may be made as early as 24 February, when a delegation of high-ranking EU officials visits Kyiv.
EU foreign ministers are expected to discuss the details of the funding next week in Brussels. However, Hungary has already expressed skepticism and may block the allocation of funds, making it difficult to agree on a final decision.
