The Kremlin made another statement after US President-elect Donald Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov voiced the so-called “conditions” for ending the war, which are in fact unacceptable ultimatums. This was reported by Time Ukraine Israel, citing Cursorinfo.

Kremlin’s conditions: blackmail under the guise of negotiations

The Russian side has traditionally offered Ukraine to give up its sovereignty in exchange for a cessation of hostilities. Peskov outlined the Kremlin’s three main “demands”:

  1. Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO.
  2. Recognition of the annexation of Crimea.
  3. Legalisation of the occupation of four regions: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.

In addition, Peskov accused Ukraine of “boycotting” the talks, referring to Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decree prohibiting any contact with the Russian leadership until the withdrawal of the occupation forces.

Ukraine and the world strongly reject the demands

Ukraine and its international partners emphasise that negotiations are possible only after the full restoration of the territorial integrity of our country. Zelenskyy’s decree is a response to Russia’s aggression, which has violated all possible international agreements.

The international community, including the United States, the EU and the UN, unanimously condemns Moscow’s demands. They are seen as a tool to legitimise the illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories and a way to put pressure on Ukraine.

Peace initiatives or a diplomatic game?

The Kremlin continues to declare its readiness to negotiate through the mediation of countries such as China, India or Saudi Arabia. However, these “initiatives” are aimed at maintaining Russian control over the occupied territories, without taking into account Ukraine’s interests.

These actions are part of Russia’s global blackmail strategy to break down international support for Ukraine and impose its agenda.

Ukraine chooses resistance

The Ukrainian people continue to demonstrate their resilience, rejecting any ultimatums from the Kremlin. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are fighting not only for the freedom of the state, but also for the principles underlying the international order.

The Kremlin’s unacceptable terms once again underscore its aggressive stance, which is contrary to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Ukraine, which is defending its sovereignty, is confidently moving towards victory together with its allies, while Russia is finding itself in deeper and deeper international isolation.
