Tragedy in Vancouver: a car crashes into a crowd at a festival, leaving dead

A tragedy occurred in Vancouver, Canada, when a car drove into a crowd of people during a Filipino street festival dedicated to Lapu-Lapu Day. This was reported by CBC.

The incident took place on 26 April after 20:00 at the intersection of 41st Avenue and Fraser Street. Several people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured. The driver is in custody. The city’s mayor expressed his condolences to the victims, particularly the Filipino community. Lapu Lapu Day commemorates the struggle of local leaders against Spanish colonisation.
