Trump announces full 12-hour truce between Israel and Iran

On Tuesday night, on his Truth Social platform, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had reached a “complete and total ceasefire” lasting 12 hours, which he called the “12-DAY WAR”. According to him, the agreement will be implemented in six hours, gradually spreading throughout the day, and will be a step towards the final end of hostilities.

“Israel and Iran have agreed that they will cease all hostilities within 12 hours, starting 6 hours from now, and after 24 hours, the 12-day war will be officially over!”
– Trump said.

The President compared the new ceasefire to the 1967 Six-Day War, calling the current conflict a “12-day war” that “could last for years and destroy the entire Middle East”.

Tehran’s denials and a new missile attack

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi denied any truce agreement, stating on social media platform X that Tehran was ready to cease fire only if Israeli attacks ceased completely by 4 am. However, in the morning, the Israeli military reported a new Iranian missile strike on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, which refutes the statement about a unilateral ceasefire.

The dubious “peace pause”

Despite Trump’s loud announcement, there has been no official confirmation from the Israeli side. The real possibilities of controlling the deterrence of both armies are also seriously questionable – the experience of previous escalations shows a quick return to shelling without a clear guarantee mechanism.
