US President Donald Trump has sharply denied French President Emmanuel Macron’s words about his alleged involvement in resolving the conflict between Israel and Iran.
He wrote about this on Truth Social on Tuesday, 17 June.

Macron had earlier suggested that Trump had left the G7 summit in Canada early to work on a ceasefire in the Middle East.

In his post, Trump stated: “French President Emmanuel Macron, seeking publicity, falsely claimed that I left the G7 summit in Canada to return to Washington to work on a ‘ceasefire’ between Israel and Iran. This is not true! He has no idea why I am heading to Washington now, but it certainly has nothing to do with a ceasefire. It’s something much bigger. Intentionally or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong.”

At the same time, Trump did not specify the real reason for his early departure from the summit.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, Western countries are actively consulting on ways to de-escalate.
