Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski wins the presidential election in Poland with a narrow margin. This is according to an exit poll conducted by Ipsos for Polsat, TVN and TVP.

According to the published data, Trzaskowski received 50.3% of the vote, ahead of his opponent, the head of the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, who received 49.7%.

“We have won!” said Trzaskowski at his campaign headquarters. He thanked voters, stressing that every vote was crucial.

The updated exit poll data is expected after midnight, and the official election results may be announced on Monday afternoon, according to the State Election Commission of Poland.

Tshaskovsky and Navrotsky represent two different vectors of foreign policy. Trzaskowski actively supports Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the European Union, while Nawrocki opposes Ukraine’s integration into Western structures. However, both candidates emphasised the importance of protecting Poland’s economic interests in relations with Kyiv during the campaign.

The elections in Poland aroused considerable interest both inside and outside the country, given the geopolitical situation in the region and Warsaw’s role as a key partner of Ukraine in countering Russian aggression.
