This information was confirmed by the White House press secretary, Karin Jean-Pierre, who said that “given the projected trajectory and strength of the hurricane, the president will postpone his trip to Germany and Angola to personally oversee hurricane preparations and response efforts, as well as coordinate the response to Hurricane Helene.”

On 6 October, Politico reported that the state of Florida is preparing for the possible evacuation of about 6 million people due to the approach of a new hurricane.
