In his address to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the urgent need to strengthen the state’s legal positions amidst the ongoing war with Russia. These initiatives aim to support Ukrainian soldiers and protect national interests.

Support for Participants in the Kursk Operation

The primary task is to ensure, at the legislative level, that Ukrainian military personnel participating in strategic operations, such as the Kursk operation, receive all due payments and benefits provided for those on the front lines. This decision aims to provide social protection and motivation for our defenders.

Recognition and Citizenship for Foreign Legionnaires

The President also stressed the importance of recognizing foreign soldiers fighting for Ukraine. They deserve Ukrainian citizenship as recognition for their contribution to the defense of the state. This opportunity should also be extended to their relatives, providing them with legal status and social support.

Regulation of Trophy Weapons

One of the critical aspects is regulating trophy weapons. Legislative changes must provide legal regulation concerning weapons captured by Ukrainian soldiers in battle, which will help avoid legal conflicts and ensure safety.

Revocation of Titles and Awards from Traitors

Traitors who sided with the aggressor should be stripped of their titles and awards in Ukraine. The President calls for concrete actions in this direction to demonstrate the state’s clear stance towards collaborators and criminals.

Volodymyr Zelensky urged the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to convene soon to address these pressing issues, which are intended to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities and support those who risk their lives daily for Ukraine’s future.
