Russian troops launch a combined attack on Dobropillya

The Russian aggressors have carefully prepared an attack on the city of Dobropillia in Donetsk region, which has become one of the most brutal in recent times. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address on 8 March.

“It was one of the most brutal blows, a combination blow. It was specially calculated to cause maximum damage. The missiles and Shahed hit the central part of the city,” Zelenskyy stressed.

Consequences of the attack: dead, wounded, destroyed buildings

According to the president, nine residential buildings, a shopping centre and shops were hit.

▪️ 50 people were injured, including 7 children

▪️ The youngest victim is a 10-year-old girl

In addition, Russian troops struck again when rescuers were already working at the site.

Russia is not thinking about ending the war

Zelensky stressed that Russia continues daily attacks in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

“Russia is proving literally every day with its brutality that nothing has changed for them in Moscow. They are not thinking about how to end the war, but about how to destroy and capture more as long as the world allows them to wage this war,” he said.

Ukraine strengthens coordination with partners

The President stressed that Ukraine continues to work with international partners to strengthen defence and bring peace closer.

“It is important to continue to coordinate all efforts to ensure that defence works effectively and to do everything to bring peace closer,” Zelenskyy concluded.
