Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in an interview that an action plan to achieve peace in Ukraine will be ready by the end of November, but stressed that he cannot agree to a ceasefire while Russia continues to occupy Ukrainian territory.

The interview with the president was recorded on Friday in Kyiv by the Japanese state television NHK. “The president said that Kyiv will start detailed discussions with the relevant countries on territorial integrity and other issues. He said that an action plan to achieve peace will be created by the end of November,” reports NHK.

“Patience, support and diplomatic pressure are three factors for a just end to the war. If the United States and European countries remain united, it will create additional pressure and show Moscow that it has no chance,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with NHK .

This month, officials in Kyiv contacted the teams of US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“We were in contact with his (Trump’s) team. Trump told me that he is ready to answer any questions and that I have his phone number,” Zelensky said, adding that he invited Trump to Kyiv. “If Mr. Trump wants to learn something about Ukraine, he can come and see everything with his own eyes or ask me,” Zelenskyy said.

On June 15, President Zelenskyi said that the plan of action agreed at the peace summit in Switzerland would be handed over to Russian representatives to make possible a real end to the war at the second peace summit. On July 14, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva stated that Ukraine seeks to advance the implementation of each of the 10 points of its “peace formula” through collective pressure on Russia from as many countries as possible, regardless of Moscow’s intentions. Zhovkva also noted that Ukraine wants to organize a second peace summit by the end of this year.

“Japan is a representative of the Group of Seven and provided us with economic, humanitarian and technical support. They helped us very quickly. It was the first country outside NATO to sign an agreement on security cooperation with Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said in an interview for NHK. He expressed hope that Japan, as a leader in the Pacific region, will have an influence on other countries and will provide assistance in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
