President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed Decree No. 359/2025 on the establishment of an official delegation of Ukraine to participate in the negotiation process to achieve a just and sustainable peace. According to the document, the meeting will take place on 2 June 2025 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov has been appointed head of the delegation. The decree allows him to make changes to the composition of the delegation with the approval of the head of state, as well as to engage experts, scientists and representatives of state institutions to support the negotiation process.
The directives for the delegation are classified and are attached to the decree separately. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine must ensure that the costs associated with the delegation’s travel and participation in the negotiations are covered.
As previously reported by Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Serhiy Leshchenko, the composition of the delegations remains unchanged, and the meeting in Istanbul is a continuation of a long process aimed at establishing a just peace.
