President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, where he met with soldiers of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade. This was reported by the press service of the Presidential Office on 18 November.
Report on the situation at the front
During the visit, the Head of State heard a report by Brigade Commander Yevhen Lasiychuk on the..:
- Tactics of Russian small-groupassaults and countermeasures of Ukrainian troops;
- Interaction with related departments;
- Experience in using equipment provided by partners.
In addition, the commander of the Donetsk Operational and Tactical Group, Oleksandr Lutsenko, briefed the President on the overall situation in the area of responsibility, including the defence of Kurakhove and other strategic areas.
Congratulations and awards
Zelenskyy congratulated the sergeants on Sergeant’s Day and expressed gratitude for their resilience, which prevents the enemy from fully occupying eastern Ukraine.
“It is only because of your strength that the East is not totally occupied by the Russian Federation. The enemy receives a daily response from you and your comrades-in-arms. Please convey to them the immense gratitude of me and the entire people of Ukraine,” the President said.
During the visit, the Head of State presented the Cross of Military Merit to four soldiers, noting their heroism at the frontline.
