“The Seal of Queen Jezebel: a unique find from the 9th century BC in opal reveals a biblical mystery”

The discovery of the unique seal of Queen Jezebel, dating back to the 9th century BC, promises to unlock the secrets of biblical history. This discovery of the semi-precious opal stone probably belonged to the wife of Israeli King Ahab, who became famous for her role in the Old Testament. The seal bears four Paleo-Hebrew letters that spell the name Jezebel, although the first letter may have been lost. The study of this seal at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem opens up new horizons for understanding biblical characters and their impact on history.

A unique seal of the 9th century BC, made of semiprecious opal. The seal is believed to have belonged to Queen Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab of Israel (who ruled the Kingdom of Israel from 873 to 852 BC). Queen Jezebel is a biblical character mentioned many times in the Bible (Old Testament, III Kings, IV Kings). In different parts of the seal, there are, among other things, 4 Paliate Hebrew (Phoenician) letters that spell out the Hebrew name Jezebel. It should be noted that the first letter of the name, which, according to the biblical version of the spelling of this name, is missing. Perhaps this letter was in the upper, imprinted part of the seal. The seal is in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
