As Ynet reports, several reservists at the IDF base in the south of the country became ill after they received cookies with hashish from citizens. At first there were concerns that the food might have been spoiled, but it was later suspected that the cookies contained a dangerous drug.

Citizens brought food and cookies to the soldiers at the base on weekends. After eating the cookies, some reservists felt sick and went to the medical clinic on the base. Although there were initial concerns about the quality of the food, it turned out that the cookies contained hashish. Fortunately, none of the fighters had to be evacuated to the hospital, as their condition improved after a few hours.

The Ministry of Defense has already started an investigation. A representative of the IDF noted: “Several reservists felt ill after receiving food from citizens. Military police investigators opened an investigation into the incident. Procedures will be clarified because irregular food donations should not be accepted.”

It is worth noting that since the beginning of the war, the number of food donations to IDF bases has increased significantly, as many Israelis have chosen to express their gratitude to the soldiers who risk their lives to defend the country.
