Kyiv Police Arrest 16-Year-Old for Arson of Car Bought for Ukrainian Military

Kyiv police, in cooperation with the SBU, arrested a 16-year-old student who set a car on fire at the request of Russian intelligence services. According to the Kyiv Police Telegram channel, the minor traveled from Cherkasy to Kyiv to carry out the task. His target was a Kia vehicle purchased by journalists for a military brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The suspect doused the car with flammable liquid and set it on fire in the Podil district, filming the act as proof for his handlers. He was promised $1,000 for the job, but now faces up to eight years in prison. The student has been charged with obstructing the lawful activities of the AFU under Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
