According to the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, the Svyatoshyn District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv requested the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention for a 41-year-old man from Kyiv, suspected of the intentional murder of a pensioner at a gas station. The court granted the request, and the suspect will remain in custody until November 16, 2024.
Details of the crime
According to the investigation, on September 18, 2024, a suspect armed with a Derya Sarina X-Celerate CRX 201 smoothbore gun approached a 65-year-old man who was about to get into his Honda Accord car. After a brief dialogue, he fatally shot the owner of the car in the head, stole the keys, a bag of personal belongings and fled the scene.
Detention and prosecution
The detainee is suspected of committing a number of crimes, including intentional murder for selfish reasons, robbery, illegal possession of a vehicle, and illegal carrying and storage of ammunition. The pre-trial investigation continues, but the suspect does not testify and does not explain the motives for his actions.
