The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out airstrikes on targets in coastal cities in western Syria, The Times of Israel reported on Thursday, October 3. Syrian state media confirmed that the strikes hit ammunition depots believed to be intended for the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.
According to Arab media reports, Syrian air defense systems actively countered the Israeli attacks for over 40 minutes in Latakia, Jableh, and Tartus. Several projectiles were intercepted near Khmeimim, where Russia maintains a military airbase.
